Volunteers

The Plymouth Half Marathon relies on a vast number of volunteers in order to stage the event.
These volunteers come from an array of organisations such as; Scouts, Air Training Corp, Devon Army Cadets etc.

Numerous individuals from local running clubs and individuals that have no connection with sport but want to experience getting involved with one of the areas largest mass participation events.

Students use the event as accreditation towards Junior Sports Leaders Awards, Community Sports Leaders and Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

If you believe that you can offer your support to this event here are some of the areas we look to cover;
  • Marshals – Directing athletes around the course
  • Rewards Area – Situated in the Finish Area on Plymouth Hoe Promenade you will be responsible for handing out medals, T-shirts and Goody Bags to all finishers
  • Athletes Village – Providing after race food and drink to all Half Marathon finishers
  • Medical – Doctors, Paramedics and Nurses to provide support either at specific parts of the route or within our Field Hospital

All volunteers will be fully briefed prior to the event
All volunteers will receive a Goody Bag
All volunteers will be required to be available from 07:00 – 13:00 on Sunday 24th May 2009
